Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has told The Sunday Times that Jordan Ayew will be an important player for the team between now and the end of the season.

Ayew is available for Villa for this evening’s Premier League game against Everton at Villa Park after serving a three-match ban.

Garde has said that the 24-year-old striker will be important for the Villans in the final weeks of the 2015-16 campaign.

“Jordan can be important now,” the Frenchman told The Sunday Times. “In a period when the team wasn’t performing Jordan was playing well

“He made a big mistake: for the team. I’m sure that he will have to prove to his teammates and everybody else in the club that he regrets his mistakes and do his maximum.”

Ayew, who joined Villa from French club Lorient in the summer of 2015, has featured in 19 Premier League matches so far this season.

The Ghana international has scored five goals and created nine chances for the Villans. The striker has a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 64%, and has won 38 headers, 37 dribbles and 19 tackles.

Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just 16 points from 27 matches.
