Ghanaians on social media were elated following the Black Stars' 2-1 win over Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to laud some players who had good performances, as well as the coach, Otto Addo, for orchestrating the win.

Some players who earned praise from Ghanaians include Tariq Lamptey, Abdul Mumin, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Meanwhile, players like Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus received backlash. Partey was criticised for missing an open goal, while Kudus was slammed for a poor performance on the night.

As for Otto Addo, he was praised for his substitutions that won the game. Although many were not impressed with the first half, they hailed the manager for how the team played in the second half.

Ghana stunned Mali by coming from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako in the 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Two second-half goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew secured Ghana the hard-fought victory, marking the Black Stars' first win in 2024.
