Juvenile boxing talent hunt returns this Sunday at Chorkor

The Goldstar airline sponsored recruitment of boxing talents within 12-16 age bracket is back after a week's break.
The 3rd in the series of the nationwide search for talented teenage boxers takes centre stage at Chorkor Lante Maame this Sunday, October 12 with an expected full house of guests including the President of Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Peter Zwennes.
Two events have already been held at James Town Roundabout and Gbese during which over 40 potential boxers were selected by the Will Power Boxing gym led technical team headed by former boxing champion, Napoleon Tagoe.
Now the initiative which has the backing of indigenous airline, Goldstar Airlines returns at Chorkor after taking a break last Sunday.
The rules remain the same as the recruitment of young talented fighters hits full gear with the endorsement of the bigwigs of Ghana boxing. The GBA President is expected to be accompanied at ringside by his vices as well as other executives members of the sport's governing body in this country.
In addition, boxing legend, Azumah Nelson who attended the Gbese leg of the show is expected to return along with renowned referee/judge, Ataa Eddie Pappoe as well as a special guest, George Johnson, an American promoter who has come down for a first hand look at the project.
Promoter Johnson is among the partners of Goldstar Airlines on this project which seeks to create avenues for the talented boxers selected to be sent abroad for further training aimed at honing their skills for potential world championships in future.
Mr. Johnson has been in the country for a few days and already met Napoleon Tagoe as well as other GBA executives, all at the expense of Goldstar Airlines who are still waiting for inspection and approval by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority to commence full operations.
