Ghanaian international, Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed that he chose the number 10 shirt at AC Fiorentina because he wants to do great things at the club.
The forward recently completed his move to the Italian Serie A side on a two-year deal from Sassuolo following a loan spell with FC Barcelona in the second half of the 2018/2019 season.
Having joined the Viola, he is set to don the number 10 jersey when the season starts.
Speaking in a recent interview, KP Boateng has shared that he is aware great players wore the number 10 shirt for the side in the past and he is going to do his best to follow in that way.
“I know the greatest players wore this in Florence, but I took the 10 because I have come here to do great things, not just to have fun.”
“I have always enjoyed myself in attack, whether as a trequartista, on the wing or a center-forward. I think it’s good for a Coach to have a player who can take on many different roles”, the former Las Palmas player said.
He added, “As time wore on, I realized what it means to be a professional. I was pretty crazy when I was young, going around partying. I certainly don’t do that now. Young players should enjoy themselves, but within the right limits.”
Boateng, 32, has been signed by the Florence-based club to contribute his experience whiles boosting their strength in the attacking third.
