Cape Coast, March 5, GNA - A renowned walker, Isaac Annan, popularly known as 'Kak-Dee', as part of his contribution towards the Centenary celebrations of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, first President of Ghana, began a marathon walk from Axim in the Western Region on Monday, March 1 and is expected to end in Accra on Saturday, March 6, in his memory of the Founder of Ghana.
Kak-Dee was interaction with the media when he made a stop over at Cape Coast on Thursday evening to brief Mr Anthony Aikins, the Metropolitan Chief Executive for Cape Coast about his mission.
He was accompanied by a team and said even though he did not meet the first President during his time in office, his numerous good works that is spread all over the country were there for all as evidence and therefore he decided to embark on the walk to help propagate the ideologies of the former President and what he stood for.
Mr Aikins lauded the idea to create awareness of the celebrations of the Centenary with a walk and wished them well and donated some amount of money to facilitate their goal.
The tam had previously made a stop in Takoradi. Bishop Peter Kojo Sackey who was part of 'Kak-Dee's convoy said they embarked on the Walk to preach peace, freedom and justice to the people of Ghana.
He announced that the team will collaborate with organizers of the on-going Centenary celebrations to create massive awareness and called on the public to contribute their quota to nation building. Bishop Sackey urged pastors to eschew partisan politics and rather serve as mediators between the people and government to promote the work of God and ensure the socio-economic development of the country. 05 March 10
