Ashgold head Coach Kasim Gökyildiz says he’s pleased with the point his side earned in yesterday’s duel with Hearts of Oak.

The Miners were hosted by the Phobians at the Accra Sports stadium in the match week 8 encounter and announced a lineup that was a bit handicapped.

Ashgold were without the services of influential midfielder and key attacker James Akaminko and Mark Agyekum due to suspension and injury respectively.

Skipper Amos Addai also missed the game due to an injury and this surely ruined their chances of getting a positive result.

The Miners were made to chase the game by their opponents who but for thee profligacy upfront should have taken the lead in the first half.

AshGold also created some decent chances but overall finished the game as second best to Hearts of Oak.

The game eventually ended in a goalless stalemate with AshGold maintaining their unbeaten run against Hearts of Oak since March 2014. The Miners now occupy the 4th spot on the league log after accumulating 14 points from 8 games played.

Kasim Gökyildiz explained that it was always going to be a tough playing away against Hearts and the draw is a fair result for both teams.

He said “it’s a good result, we played away and we play draw, so I’m happy and satisfied with the result. The draw was a good result for both.”

The Turkish Coach was speaking during the post-match interview. AshGold’s next game is a home fixture against Liberty Professionals.
