AC Milan star Kevin-Prince Boateng has sent a goodwill message to former president Nelson Mandela who has been admitted to hospital in Pretoria.
The 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader was sent to hospital on Thursday for a recurring lung problem.
Boateng met the influential political leader during the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals when the Black Stars visited Mandela at his residence.
Boateng posted a picture of him shaking Mandela’s hands and wrote on his official Twitter account: “Get well soon Nelson Mandela.”
In a statement released by South African President Jacob Zuma’s office said the ex-leader was “responding positively” to treatment.
