Former Black Stars marksman Kim Grant says he would grip the call to play for the senior national soccer team with both hands if he is invited .

Grant made this known when he spoke Cubagee Uriel on a radio sports show from his base in London. The player who played for the Stars during the 96 cup of nations and 98 world cup qualifiers scored four goals in his fourteen caps.

Kim Grant who has previously played for teams like Charlton Athletic, Notts County, Luton Town,Yeovil FC Milwall all in England also played teams like Lommel in Belgium, Despotivo Immortal in Portugal, Sarawak in Malaysia, Shonnan Bellmare in Japan and Senkang Punggol in Singapore.

Grant revealed that, although there was some kind of politics behind his exclusion from the then team, he has not regretted playing for Ghana at the time the opportunity was ripe for him to play for England He said”, I did the right thing since Ghana is the land of my birth and did enjoy every minute I had with the Black Stars”.

On whether he would love to play for the Stars again, he said ”Ghana did not see the real Kim because of the early exclusion. I believe with the rich experience I now have, this is the right time to show to Ghanaians the real Kim Grant and also take the national team to another level”.

He commended the playing body of the Black Stars for the startling performance in the world cup and also heaped praises on the current FA and the technical team for their rightful thinking and sense of professionalism.

Grant drew distinction between the current and that of his era by saying there is absolute unity in the team as the players see themselves as equal.”Unlike the 96 squad, there was too much egoism, pride, arrogance and show-off in the team and that did not helped the team”, Kim said.

The former marksman until last month was playing for Geyland United in Singapore. But argument over fourteen days leave he had requested to enable him travel to London to see his six year old son escalated. The club had proposed ten days and as a result had his contract terminated. This according to Kim Grant was unfortunate because he had served the club with all his heart scoring four goals in seven matches.

”I had a clean record with Senkang Punggol from which I moved to Geyland scoring eleven goals in sixteen matches .This unfortunate issue according to Kim is now before the world soccer governing body FIFA.

Kim Grant ended by saying he has been doing coaching clinics along side playing football and his greatest wish is to coach of the senior national team in future.
