Asante Kotoko CEO, George Amoako has taken a dig at Hearts of Oak gaffer Kim Grant over what he terms “reckless comments” by the latter on the club’s recruitment plan, calling him an ” ignoramus”.

The Phobians’ coach had recently criticized their arch-rivals’ recruitment policy, saying “they brought a lot of players without any structure”.

“I’ve looked at their team. There wasn’t any league. If you put into that position they’re making good use of it but they using lots of rift because they brought a lot of players without any plans,” he said in an interview with Atinka FM.

Reacting to Grant’s claim, George Amoako believes the new Hearts tactician lacked knowledge of Kotoko’s aim and should have remained mute.

“Let’s forget about those reckless comments. He (Grant) is not privy to what we are doing,” he told Asempa FM.

“He doesn’t know what he is talking about. Does he know what we’re doing as a club? Please forget some of this ignoramus and let’s move on.”

Kotoko announced deals with eleven new players for their Caf Confederation Cup campaign including Maxwell Baakoh, Kwame Conte, Muntari Tagoe, Abdul Safiu, and Daniel Nii Adjei amongst others. In strengthening their squad further ahead of the group stage, the Porcupine Warriors expressed interest in three AshantiGold players but later withdrew their request.

They are drawn against Zambian sides Zesco United and Nkana FC as well as Al Hilal Omdurman from Sudan after eliminating Coton Sport of Cameroon in the playoff stage.
