King Faisal CEO Drops Bombshell On Goalie.

Sports fans in the Ashanti Region yesterday reacted skeptically on comments by the Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi-based King Faisal, Mr. George Amoako to the effect that the club's Goal Keeper Abukari Kankani conceeded useless and stupid goals in their CAF/MTN Confederations game against AS FAR Rabbat of Morocco.

He declared, "after the whole team had fought gallantly and devotedly for the entire 90minutes of regulations time plus extra seven minutes of the injury time amidst frustrations from the officials to the point that eveybody was ready for a respectable and well deserved one-all drawn game the goal-keeper decides to do the unimaginable".

"With seconds to go on the clock this boy picks the ball and against the round of expectations and thoughts quite unthinkably drops the ball infront of him to his oponent and as if planned comes out of the post out of panic only for the player to put the ball behind the net" He sounded.

"Can anybody fathom such a behaviour, how could he conceed such a stupid goal to the much disappointment of the entire playing body and the technical team as well as the Management team",Mr. Amaoko lamented.

In an exclusive interview on AUTHENTIC KAPITAL SPORTS yesterday the visibly bitter CEO,said he has been in Ghana football for close to thirty years and has never seen such unbelieveable attitudes by goal-keepers except from the same player. He said it was an eye-sore to see how the players wept uncontrolably on the field and in the hotel after the game.

According to him the boys, the technical team as well as the management team could not control the immotional disappointments after the the game as they wailed like kids.

Mr.Amoako said even though what happened does not give him cause to suspect anything foul about the player ,it is becoming characteristic of him. He recounted that he did the samething during his playing days with Kotoko,Hearts as well as Ashold, before joining King Faisal. Mr. Amoako revealed that he openly opposed the signing of Abukari Kankani because of his inconsistant and seemingly suspicious attitude in crucial must-win games but other opinions which defered from his on the player were stronger than his and when you are a team player sometimes you have to respect other views and opinion and that explains why he could not stop the signing of the player.

He said the club was hoping to at worse draw that game to better their chances of qualifying for the final to at least make some 250,000 dollars to defray the huge debt hunging around the neck of the team but all has now been blown and he still need to fight the huge debt from the blue.

Callers into the programme debated angrily at the comments of Mr. Amoako, whiles almost all the callers appreciated the concerns of the CEO, they also believe he went too far with the comments which might incite the supporters of the club against the goal keeper.
