Mallam Yahaya has resigned as Coach of King Faisal, citing irritating interference by the management of the club.
Yahaya, who has been in charge of the team for barely three months, claims the disrespect and interference by management has made his stay and work unattainable.
He told GNA Sports “I am not happy with the ill-treatment meted out to me and my players during training sessions and matches by some management members and particularly, the club's President, Alhaji Karim Grunzah.
Yahaya, who has succeeded in lifting King Faisal out of the relegation zone to 10th position on the Premiership log said, 'I could not be comfortable with the situation where some of the management members openly question the tactics I employed on the field and insult us despite caring less about the general welfare of the players.
Clearly such impudence is unhelpful to effective team building.
Alhaji Grunzah, when contacted, confirmed receiving the coach’s resignation letter and profusely denied the accusations and concerns Mallam Yahaya had raised. Grunzah claimed 'contrary to what Yahaya want the world to believe, he enjoyed cooperation and mutual respect of all stakeholders'.
He said the management would soon meet to decide on the next line of action.
