Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Kofi Abanga look set to switch camp to Elmina Sharks after parting ways with the Phobians.

The stylish midfielder left the camp of Accra Hearts of Oak in the offseason after a long injury lay-off and has been snubbed at the top notch domestic rivals in the transfer window.

The 24-year-old midfielder stormed the domestic scene in the past few seasons but has since failed to live up to his billing after a promising start.

Sports crusader can exclusively reveal that the then coveted midfield enforcer is close to sealing a deal with the second tier as he looks to resurrect his ailing career.

Elmina Sharks missed out on top flight football at the end of the 2014/15 GN Bank season by just six points in zone II and the addition of Abanga can only boost their chances of sealing Premiership football.

Abanga’s early career form look juicy but recurrent injuries has since punctuated his overall development as a footballer. His return to the second tier league will provide the needed springboard to unleash the burgeoning talent in him.
