The Miners are eager to secure the signature of 23-year-old Kofi Owusu, who was initially reported to have sealed a loan deal with the Club (AshGold).
Kofi Owusu was outstanding for Berekum Chelsea last season after scoring 19 goals to emerge the top scorer in the First Capital plus Premier League.
The former Aduana Stars attacker has been a major transfer target for the Premier League Champions who will be representing Ghana in Africa next year.
Chelsea are unwilling to release their key man who is also reported to have received an offer from Russia. Kudjo Fianoo however insist the Club (AshGold) will continue to chase for the services of the impressive forward.
“Yes we are still on it and we will not stop until we secure his services. We need such a player to beef up our squad in Africa next year especially after he scored 19 goals in the League. So we will still push to get him,” he told Peace FM.
The Obuasi-based Club are hoping to beef up their attack for next year’s inter-Club competition.
