Kotey Neequaye for USBA title on April 5

The US-based Ghanaian boxer - Samuel Kotey Neequaye, a product of the Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club who featured for Ghana at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing will be fighting a Peruvian - Jonathan Maicelo for the vacant USBA Lightweight (135 lbs.) Title in California on April 5, 2013.

According to his US - based Ghanaian manager - Stephen Darko, he has the vision for making Ghanaian boxers a world champions in the US and with his network of promoters and expert boxing handlers, he believes Neequaye winning this vacant USBA Lightweight Title will be the starting point of his vision.

His trainer Zeke Thompson believes Neequaye will deliver for their camp as well as Ghanaians will be expecting him (Neequaye) to win the belt on April 5 as the boxer is in good shape. He (Thompson) they have been working very hard and always on alert since making use of any good opportunity can lead one to become a world champion.

The boxer is asking Ghanaians for their prayers and support and promise not to disappoint but will deliver. The fight will be telecast live on ESPN.
