Inter Allies assistant coach, Tony Lokko has thrown his weight behind Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold to represent Ghana in Africa inter-club competition next year.

Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF’ inter-club competitions following the truncation of the season.

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association met on Tuesday to cancel the 2019/2020 football season.

The Ghana football season has been cancelled as a result of the crisis presented by the Coronavirus pandemic.

However, with no promotion and demotion, Asante Kotoko and Ashgold who represented the country in the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup will represent the country again next season.

Despite Aduana Star striker, Yahaya Mohammed questioning the FA’s decision to select Kotoko and Ashanti Gold for Africa, the Inter Allies deputy coach believes the two clubs are ready to play in Africa and has, therefore, backed the Ghana Football Association’s decision to give the nod to the aforementioned clubs.

“I agree and side with the Ghana FA to give the nod to both Kotoko and Ashantigold again. Looking at the structures of Kotoko and what they can do and what they have I think they are ahead of all the clubs. Financially they are sound, technically they have a good coach, they have good materials on board and on the field of play as well”

“So for them to represent us in the Champions League is a good call. Ashantigold also have the upper hand to do likewise because they have been there before. They must go there and prove their worth as to why they have been chosen” he told S.K Ntim in an interview.
