Kotoko Circles Council to hold Congress in November

Kumasi, Oct 29, GNA - The National Circles Council of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club will go to Congress on Saturday, November 20, 2004 to elect a new National Executive Chairman. A statement issued in Kumasi on Thursday and signed by Mr Anthony Osei-Boateng, Chairman of the National Circles Council, said the congress would take place at the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) hall in Accra.

It said the Congress was in line with the decision of the meeting of the National Circles held on Saturday, October 23 at Suhum in the Eastern Region.

The statement said all those wishing to contest the election will pay a non-refundable commitment fee of five million cedis to the secretariat of the National Circles Council. It said all those wishing to contest should therefore route their applications through their respective Regional Councils for transmission to the national secretariat.

It added that any national executive member, regional council and circles that owe the national council annual dues, contributions or levies should settle their indebtedness by October 31, 2004, otherwise they will not be allowed to vote.

The statement mentioned the national executive committee members, regional circles council chairmen, representatives each of all registered circles or supporters as those eligible to vote. It said all delegates will be provided with accreditation including observers and the press and that only accredited members will be allowed into the congress venue.
