Kotoko beat Aduana Stars 3-0 in glo premier league

Kumasi March 13, GNA - Fabulous Kumasi Asante Kotoko played a good ga= me to have a 3-0 win over reigning league champions in their Glo premier leagu= e match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

It was a game the visitors started on a serious note and nearly took th= e lead in the second minute, but striker Ali Nurudeen messed up with a feeble shot which was saved by goalkeeper Isaac Amoako.

Sensing danger, the Porcupine Warriors came into t he game with Alex Asamoah and Nathaniel Asamoah playing at the top made some moves but the packed up defence of Aduana was superb doing everything possible in defending the post. With both teams trying to find the lead, striker Bernard Don Bortey who had earlier wasted a chance was red-carded while the ball was in play for indecent play. Though the players jumped on referee, Awal Mohammed of Tamale, he stood to his gun.

Frank Boateng broke the deadlock when he hit the back of the net with a low grounder which sailed through the legs of goalkeeper Stephen Adams in the 27th minute. Playing with 10 men Aduana accepted the challenge and tightened their defence.

They mounted series of foray to in attempt to equalise but the iron cla= d defence of Kotoko led by Awal Mohammed, Frank Boateng, Daniel Nii Adjei and Prince Anokye made things difficult for them. In the second session, Kotoko replaced Yaw Frimpong with Prince Boateng in the 46th minute and Stephen Oduro for Frank Boateng, the goal scorer, in the 55th minute. With Oduro in the game the midfield was closed and it became all Kotoko affair from the attack and it was no wonder they scored two goals in the second half through Daniel Nii Adjei in the 75th minute and old Stephen Odu= o sealing the doom of Aduana with a classic goal in the 86th minute.
