Kotoko close to securing Techiman City star Baba Mahama - Michael Osei

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are close to securing the signature of youngster Baba Mahama who excelled with relegated Techiman City last season, according to stop-gap coach Michael Osei.

Kotoko have been on the tail of the 19-year-old likened to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.

Mahama drew attention from both Hearts and Kotoko head coach of the Porcupine Warriors Osei reveals he has held talks with City President Charles Kwadwo Ntim over the transfer of the talented youngster.

"I met Techiman City owner [Micky Charles] last Saturday to hold talks over a possible transfer of the player," Osei told Nhyira FM

"We done with and it has left with the player's personal terms.

"I can assure the fans that Baba [Mahama] will be joining Kotoko next week," he added.

2016 G6 finalist Aduana Stars are also mentioned to be interested in Mahama but Kotoko are leading the race for the GHS60,000 player.
