Asante Kotoko are working hard to hold on to defender Awal Mohammed who has emerged as a transfer target for South African side Super Sport United.

Awal signed a short term deal with Asante Kotoko with a clause that allows him to move when he gets a foreign deal.

The 27-yaer-old has succeeded in reviving his career after some stellar performances for the Porcupine Warriors and even playing for the home based Black Stars.

Super Sport United have lost Lawrence Lartey to Club Africain and have contacted the former Maritzburg man to fill the void.

Kotoko coach Steve Pollack is a huge admirer of Awal and is desperate to at least hold to him at least till the end of the season.

It remains to be seen if Awal will push through the deal now that he has the offer on his table or wait till the Ghana Premier League season come to an end.
