Kotoko eye striker Osman Bashiru

Former King Faisal striker Osman Bashiru is said to be tempting officials of Champions Asante Kotoko for a deal with his impressive displays at the club’s Adako-Jachie training grounds since beginning a short trials this week.

The 24-year old quite travelled striker left King Faisal in 2008 after making 45 appearances for the Kumasi based team to join Israeli side Hapoel Petah Tikva on loan for the 2009/10 season. His impressive performance earned him a permanent deal with Hapoel Ashkelon the following season where he scored 14 times in 21 games.

Bashiru however fell down the pecking order in his second season at Ashkelon and was subsequently loaned to two clubs; Nes Tziona and Hapoel Herzliya in 2011. He ended up leaving Israel for Singaporean rich club Brunei DPMM FC in January 2012 but was released after 12 months. He scored 10 times in 29 appearances for the Brunei-based club.

Asante Kotoko are busy in the transfer market for strikers as they prepare to return to Africa for the 2014 CAF Champions League starting February.
