Defending champions Asante Kotoko will welcome Wa All Stars to the Baba Yara Stadium today in Week 26 of the Ghana Premier League after silencing fierce rivals Hearts of Oak in Accra on Sunday.
David Duncan's men have new adrenaline in the team and can topple their visitors to claim the fifth position if they win on Wednesday. The Porcupine Warriors have been pushed to mid-table following their wins over Ashantigold and Hearts.
They are now four points away from All Stars and midfielder Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, who started his career with the visitors, believes emotions will go out of the window when the two clubs pit their wits against each other this weekend, knowing a victory will see Kotoko in good position.
"This season hasn't been a good one for us but we hope to finish well with the win against Hearts as a motivation," Gyamfi told Goal. "We are not eying the title but our aim is to win all our remaining matches to finish in a respectable position.
"All Stars, despite being my former club, will surely fall on Wednesday. We shared the spoils 1-1 with them at their home ground but records favour us in Kumasi. They are without a win in their last three visits so it is a win for us.”
Kotoko will again be without midfielder Jordan Opoku but they will welcome back leading scorer Ahmed Toure after recovering from Malaria.
