Kotoko job: 3 Old guards likely, Kuffour unlikely

Former Black Stars and Bayern Munich defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour has missed out of the race to become the President of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The ex-Bayern Munich star, Samuel Osei Kuffuor who was in pole position of landing the post of President of the club is believed to have lost favour with Manhyia after his infamous outburst of his appointment to the position of president for the club.

The ex-national star was heavily tipped to land the position after meeting with the life patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, two months ago, however an interview he granted with Metro TV scuppered his chances of landing the job.

Sources close to Manhyia have revealed that, former Asante Kotoko chairmen Herbert Mensah, Sylvester Asare Owusu and Kwabena Kesse have re-surfaced for the position.

Meanwhile, it must noted that Herbert Mensah, Sylvester Asare Owusu and Kwabena Kesse have all handled the club before, so it is really a surprise, how their names have re-appeared and they are in the race for the club’s top job. ….. more to follow
