Asante Kotoko has confirmed lending midfielder Yahaya Mohammed to Premiership new boys Amidaus Professionals for the coming season.
Footy-ghana.com earlier revealed there have been talks between the player and the Tema-based club and Asante Kotoko have come out to confirm the news.
Speaking to Kumasi-based radio station Fox FM, Asante Kotoko’s Public and Supporters Relations Manager Listowel Yesu Bukarson has confirmed the porcupine warriors have released the embattled midfielder to Amidaus on a season-long loan.
“Amidaus spoke to us and we have given him (Yahaya) a release letter to join them because he is also interested,” Bukarson confirmed.
“He is going for a year loan and will join Kotoko for his last season if we need him. The club will want to wish him well as he joins Amidaus,” he added.
Yahaya Mohammed last year joined Asante Kotoko on a three-season deal worth GHc30, 000 to be paid on a pro-rata basis but his excessive demands outside the agreement signed with the club led to the midfielder openly flirting for a move to arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak if his demands are not met.
Efforts by Asante Kotoko to meet the midfielder’s needs proved futile leading to a strained relationship between him and the club’s management, hence the club’s decision to drop him from the plans for the 2012/13 season.
