Even before Asante Kotoko players kick the first ball in their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, one of their legends is advising the club’s Management to open up on their preparations and management of affairs to pave the way for more ideas and success.

Speaking on Zuria FM over the weekend, Golden Boy, Abdul Razak said, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if the Kotoko administration involved former players in their scheme of things especially as they prepare for Africa.

“Immediately you finish playing, you are sidelined” said Razak. “We are the right people to advice Management and the technical team on the way to go instead of an outsider who just follows the club” added the 1978 African Best Footballer of the Year.

Razak cited an example in the Dr. K. K. Sarpong era, saying that, his inputs were useful at one stage. “I remember Dr. K. K. Saprong took to me to Equatorial Guinea for a Champions League game and we won 8-0 on aggregate. This is how it’s been done” he said.

Meanwhile, Kotoko continued with their pre-season programme with a low profile friendly against Kumasi Cornerstones which they won 4-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday. On recruitment, the team has also announced the signing of Emmanuel Owusu, a centre back, formerly of NEA Salamina.
