Kotoko not coming back into the top 4

Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), organisers of the prestigious Coca Cola Top 4 has vehemently denied speculations in town that the association is secretly holding series of meetings with Kotoko with the view of bringing them back into the competition.

The denial was made this morning on SPACE FM in an exclusive interview with the Chairman of GHALCA, Mr. J.Y Appiah. He said the decision to postpone the tournament is to give ample publicity to the products of the sponsors and wondered why people have misconstrued that to mean a way of creating accommodation for Kotoko.“Nobody denied Kotoko the opprtunity to participate in the competition.Arsenal is now on board,we have not regreted this decision which is irrevocable“,he fumed.

On the rumours in town that the major sponsors, Coca Cola has threatened to call it quits, he said there is no iota of truth in the story. He added that Coca Cola has signed a three-year contract with GHALCA.

In a related development, Mr. Appiah said GHALCAs intended legal action against Edmund Ackah of Kotoko Express for alledgedly saying GHALCA tried to bribe Kotoko twenty million cedis to entice them (Kotoko) to take part in the competition persists.
