Following an indignant position by the Ghana FA Normalization Committee to iron out the differences of Asante Kotoko over their semifinal clash with Hearts of Oak, the Porcupine Warriors have pulled out of the competition.

Asante Kotoko who finished second in the Zone A of the NC Special Competition are billed to play Hearts of Oak who topped Zone B.

The NC announced that the tie will come off at the Accra Sports Stadium, a position Asante Kotoko have protested vehemently against, insisting it will offer their bitterest rivals undue advantage.

Asante Kotoko felt disrespected by the NC after writing several letters to them without response, calling for the clash to be played at a neutral ground.

Speaking to FootballMadeInGhana.com, management member of Asante Kotoko Nana Kwame Dankwah confirmed the club’s position and explained why.

“Yes we have pulled out after a meeting with our Executive Chairman,” he said.

“We have written to the NC explaining our position and why the game must be played at a neutral venue so that the proceed will be shared equally.

“None of the regulations specify that the team that tops their group shall play at home.

“So we have pulled out,” he confirmed.

The Porcupine Warriors will, however, play the Tier II league after qualifying for the quarter final stage.

Techiman City FC had earlier pulled out of the competition with Asante Kotoko becoming the third club after Wa All Stars did not start at all.
