Kumasi Asante Kotoko General Manager, Opoku Nti says the dethroned premier league champions are ready to wrestle back the premier league title last season.

The Porcupine Warriors lost out the league crown to Ashanti Gold after winning it for three consecutive seasons.

They went into the transfer market and signed as many as eight players to augment the squad.

The signings gave the squad enough depth and it was divided into two to compete in two different tournaments — the GHALCA Six invitational tournament and a friendly match against Al Ittihad in Tripoli.

And the depth in squad has given Opoku Nti confidence ahead of the commencement of the Ghana Premier league season which will start on February 20.

“Asante Kotoko is ready for the season. Even if the league is starting next week, i can tell you we are fully prepared for it,” Opoku Nti told Atinka FM.

The former Black Stars striker revealed the target of Kotoko for the year is to win all competitions before them.

“We have to go Africa (next season). We have to go back to Africa. We have to announce our presence in Africa again; so the league title and the FA Cup are our target.

“I believe Kotoko have a strong team and the dream we had for this year is on course. The players we targeted to take into the new Premier League season and to give the coach more options were signed.” He added.

Asante Kotoko divided their squad into two play each other on Sunday.
