Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ernest Sowah is impressed by his side’s defensive organisation after recording yet another clean sheet in the Ghana Premier League.
The former Black Stars shop-stopper was in action in the Porcupine Warriors’ 1-0 defeat of Bechem United on Wednesday – his sixth unbeaten outing in 10 total league appearances this season.
“The defenders have been super,” Sowah told the club’s official website.
“I couldn’t have been that stubborn to beat in the post if they have not been giving me the needed protection. The defensive record [sums] a fantastic performance. It’s down to the experience we have gathered at the rear.
“We have had to make changes in the last few weeks because of injuries, but they have all performed well. The midfielders and the strikers have also been helpful because we start defending from the front.
“We go into each game feeling positive and knowing that we can count on each other’s efforts.”
Sowah joined Kotoko on a three-year contract in 2015 following a one-year spell with Congolese club Don Bosco. He previously played for Berekum Chelsea and now lower-tier side Tema youth.
The 28-year-old was one of Ghana’s three goalkeepers at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
