The Asantehene says his club Asante Kotoko's position at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League led to him panicking which led to him storming the club's training ground unannounced.

HRH Otumfuo Osei Tutu II stormed the training grounds of the crisis-ridden side on Tuesday after pressured piled on the Ashanti King following the dwindling fortunes of the giants.

The owner of the Ghana Premier League side was forced to visit the players after the giants slipped to the bottom of the table for the first time in its history amid the confusion over the coaching staff.

"I was reading the newspapers and checking on the league table and found that my team is at the bottom of the league table," the Asantehene said.

"I was stunned and panicked when I saw the position of the club so I had to come here unannounced without informing anyone.

"I love this team more than anyone can imagine and i want all the problems solved immediately."

This comes after a massive storm erupted on Tuesday morning after axed coach David Duncan refused to quit, deepening cracks and factions within the ranks of the Porcupine Warriors.

The decision to ask the coach to stand aside was the first of a series of measures being instituted to salvage the image of the former Premier League champions.

Kotoko have only five points from a possible 18 points after six matches and occupy the bottom of the 16-club league table.

Kotoko have won one home match against Sekondi Hasaacas and have drawn two other matches to the chagrin of their vociferous fans.
