Asante Kotoko legend Ibrahim Sunday believes it's high time the Porcupine Warriors build their own stadium in order to be at par with order top African Football Clubs.

Asante Kotoko remains one of the prestigious clubs to have emerged from West Africa but can not boast of their own Stadium after 84 years of existence.

Sunday, who was a part of the Asante Kotoko squad that won the club's first African silverware believes the Porcupines are rather retrogressing as compared to other African Clubs.

"Infrastructure wise, Kotoko is [moving] backwards because it should be at the same standards with Al Ahly, Esperance and the other big teams in Africa," Ibrahim Sunday told Ash FM

Sunday who coached Kotoko to win their last CAF continental showpiece in 1983 added that "Kotoko should try to get their own stadium and other modern training equipment because they have the greatest support base in Ghana."

In July, the club took full ownership of a new pitch constructed with help from headline sponsor MTN.

The club currently boasts of a training pitch which was commissioned in July and sponsored by telecom giants, MTN.
