Asante Kotoko have further strengthened their squad with the signing of Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara.
The 24-year-old joins the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year deal from Soar Academy, becoming the 10th addition to the team in this transfer window.
Camara, who made an impressive 26 appearances for Soar Academy last season, brings agility, quick reflexes, and a commanding presence to Kotoko’s goalkeeping department.
Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum praised the new recruit, saying, "Mohammed Camara is an outstanding goalkeeper with incredible talent. His agility, quick reflexes, and ability to command his area make him a perfect fit for our team. He comes highly recommended, and we are confident he will be a great asset to our club."
The Guinean goalkeeper’s decision to join Kotoko was influenced by positive conversations with former teammate Amos Frimpong, who spoke highly of the club’s environment and ambitions. Frimpong is a former Kotoko captain.
"Amos had a lot of very good things to say about the club; the supporters, the supportive environment, and the ambition to achieve success. This convinced me that Asante Kotoko is the right place for me to continue my career," Camara revealed.
With Camara's arrival, Kotoko now boasts a strong goalkeeping trio, including Frederick Asare and Fatao.
