The Porcupine Warriors have added the Medeama SC top defender to their list of new players ahead of the upcoming campaign
Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of veteran defender Evans Quao from Medeama SC in a two-year deal.
The former Heart of Lions player is the second acquisition of the Porcupine Warriors in less than a week after the recruitment of 23-year-old Liberty Professionals defender Edwin Frimpong Manso days ago.
Quao returned from Indian club Mumbai FC in 2013, after spending two spells between 2009 and 2013, and joined Medeama, with whom he won the Ghana FA Cup last season.
The 25-year-old, who also plays as a defensive midfielder, will compete with the likes of Abeiku Ainooson, Henry Ohene Brenya, Edwin Tuffour Frimpong, Ahmed Adams and Amos Frimpong at Kotoko’s back half.
Quao joins goalkeeper Ernest Sowah, defender Samuel Kyere and midfielder Theophilus Nyame as the latest signings of the Porcupines.
