Wa, (U/W), May 15, GNA - Supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday went on a jubilation float through the principal streets of the Wa Municipality for what they described as "breaking the jinx and dominance of Accra Hearts of Oak" over their idol club in recent times. The supporters tooted and blew the horns of their motor bikes and lorries to register their delight an victory over their arch rivals after Kotoko won a convincing 3-1 victory over Hearts in their GT Premier league match at the Kumasi sports stadium.
Some of the supporters carried placards with inscriptions of "This is a new found Kotoko", " Coach Malik will no longer go", and "No Jones Attuquafio-no hearts among them".
At "Free Port", a popular drinking spot in the Municipality, the Kotoko supporters bought free drinks all curious eyes who patronised the spot to join in the jubilation.
The proprietor of the drinking spot, Mr Samuel Adusei, who is however a Hearts staunch supporter, admitted defeat and commended Kotoko for their vintage performance.
Mr Kwabena Sefa, a member of the Kotoko supporters said Kotoko's win over Hearts was to create a balance since according to him "Hearts were becoming too domineering".
Most of the Hearts supporters the GNA Sports spoke to commended Kotoko for putting up a good fight particularly in the first half but they gave the assurance that their team would reverse the trend in subsequent matches. 15 May 05
