Football Administrator Nana Oduro Sarfo has welcomed the decision by the executive chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei to contest the Ghana Football Association presidency when nominations are opened.

After last Thursday’s historic feat where majority of the 123 delegates unanimously adopted the statutes proposed by the Normalization Committee and approved by Fifa, the way is now clear for the process for the election of the next president.

An aid to the Kotoko boss has confirmed he is ready to join the race but the experienced football administrator Nana Oduro sarfo has warned the Kotoko chairman not to sit aloof and hope to win the presidency since Kotoko supporters do not have a vote during the elections.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Metro FM, he cautioned Dr. Kwame Kyei to approach the various delegates who have votes since they will help him realize his dream.

“We welcome Dr.Kyei to the elections because he qualifies we are ready for anyone who will come this is not about Kotoko supporters been many since they do not have votes it is the football people who will vote”

“It is about relationship, who can do the job one who has a good track record of achieving results so he must go round and talk to the clubs who have the votes.”

“It is a family seat that he is coming to contest I believe he is not late in the race he stands a chance” he added.
