Kotoko to engage Ashgold in Peace Match

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA - League champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko will engage Obuasi Ashantigold in a 'Peace Match' on Sunday, November 16 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi. The match is been organised to foster peace and unity between the two Clubs ahead of the December 7 general elections. Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates that the first leg will come off this weekend with the return fixture coming off at a later date.

The two Clubs will be expected to use the game to fine-tune their preparations towards the 2008/2009 Onetouch Premier League which kicks off on Sunday, November 23.

Kotoko are expected to feature new faces including Alex Asamoah of Ashgold fame, Louis Quainoo from Tema Youth, Frederick Quayson from Sekondi Hasaacas and former Hearts of Oak striker Louis Agyemang while the Miners will parade the likes of Habib Mohamed, Nana Arhin Duah of Asante Kotoko fame and Ransford Cudjoe from B.A. United. The game will be the first meeting between the two sides since Herbert Mensah's- Fortia Limited took over the reigns of Ashantigold in September.
