Kotoko top Group A

Hearts Thrash Sable Batie
Asante Kotoko moved to the top of Group A of the Confederation Cup after a 1-1 draw away to Petro Atletico of Angola on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak moved to second place in Group B after thrashing Sable Batie 5-1 in Accra

Yussif Chibsah opened the scoring in Lunada for Kotoko in the 34th minute.

Flavio Amada equalised for Petro with 14 minutes left on the clock.

The result means that Asante now have seven points from their four games while Petro are bottom of the group with four points.

On Saturday Al Hilal of Sudan secured an important 2-1 win over Nigeria's Enugu Rangers on Saturday to stay in contention in Group A of the Confederation Cup.

The win for the Sudanese points mean that they are now level with Enugu on six points from four matches.

Only the group winners advance to the two-leg final.
