Kotoko trek north as Hearts storm Tema

Accra, Dec. 15, GNA – Premier league leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko face yet another difficult test as the 2011/2012 Glo Premier League enters Week 12 with a trip to Wa, the Upper West Regional capital as guests of All Stars.

Fresh from their lone goal triumph over defending champions, Berekum Chelsea in an outstanding match last Wednesday, the Porcupine Warriors storm the Wa Stadium, a venue that their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak remain the only side to have survived there in the 12-week old League.

The match will serve a homecoming for Asante Kotoko's head coach, Maxwell Konadu, who is responsible for the established status of All Stars in the elite division for the past two seasons.

All Stars are experiencing arguably their best form in the top flight in recent times with four points separating them and the leaders, having put up a display which has made the departure of the former trainer of no significance.

In Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, Francis Mantey, Saeed Adnan and Eric Mensah, they boast of some of the best performers in the League and are expected to provide stiff challenge to the Porcupine Warriors who will parade the likes of Nathaniel Asamoah, formerly of Wa All Stars, Ahmed Toure, Michael Akuffo and Michael Anaba in their quest to maintain the lead at the helm at the standings.

After losing to Hearts of Oak, another defeat against Asante Kotoko at their fortress will render their venue an easy spot for visiting teams.

At the Tema Park, in-form Tema Youth will host Hearts of Oak in a tricky test for the visitors. The Teme lads have been impregnable in their last four matches at home and away encounters and are expected to rekindle their fierce rivalry with the Phobians.

For Hearts of Oak, victory will usher in the new Board of Directors of the Club following their appointment barely a few days to the match. The Phobians army of faithful supporters will paint the harbor city in their rainbow colours as they expect the team to do the talking on the pitch.

At the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman, Liberty Professionals will seek to put the brakes on leading marksman in the League, Emmanuel Baffour when they play host to New Edubiase.

For Baffour, the game presents him with a perfect opportunity to silence his critics on his inclusion into the Black Stars squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Medeama SC will face debutants Wassaman United in a regional derby at the Essipong Stadium, Sekondi whilst Bechem United engage Berekum Arsenal in another regional derby at the Bechem Park.

At the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi, Ashantigold will be on image redemption mission against fellow strugglers Tudu Mighty Jets, while Aduana Stars host Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs at the Dormaa Park with Berekum Chelsea locking horns against Kpando Heart of Lions at the Golden City Park in Berekum.
