Kotoko will break league jinx this season

Alhaji Yahaya Ziblim, Team Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has declared that the team will translate its performance in the just-ended GHALCA/LG Top Four competition to the Premier league when it commences.

He said the Interim Management Committee (IMC) was determined to break the jinx, which had surrounded Kotoko's inability to win the league title for the past six seasons and with the current methodical approach to things by the IMC, the team would deliver.

Alhaji Yahaya was speaking to GNA Sports in an interview at the team's training grounds on Tuesday in Kumasi.

He expressed disappointment at the pronouncement of some people who have branded Kotoko as off-season champions and said Kotoko was going to repeat the vintage performance it put up in the LG Top Four competition this time round.

The Team Manager said the days when Kotoko won matches during the off season but was found wanting where it mattered most, were over and that the current management had learnt a lot of lessons from the team's history.

Alhaji Yahaya said the management was aware of what was in store for them and was leaving no stone unturned in their bid to ensure that Kotoko wins the league and recaptures its lost glory.

To this end, all hands must be on deck to ensure that Kotoko has the best of preparation towards annexing the league title.

He therefore assured the supporters not to panic but to stay solidly behind the new management and the playing body to deliver the desired results.
