Kotoko win 'test' match against Dwarfs

Cape Coast, April 2, GNA- Champion Club Kumasi Asante Kotoko brushed aside the bluff of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs to beat them 3-1 in a friendly football match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Thursday. The match formed part of Kotoko's preparations towards the first round African Champions League encounter with Asec Mimosa of Abidjan on April 11. The match which was watched by a large crowd of spectators of both teams saw Dwarfs parading their newly signed on players, matched Kotoko boot for boot and ended the first half in a 1-1 tie. Dwarfs started the game in a businesslike manner after Class One Referee, Charles Nyarko signalled the two teams into action and managed to shock the visitors with a third shocker of a goal through their midfielder, Ekow Ghansah in a goal mouth scramble. Kotoko accepted the challenge and repulsed the homesters attack and after warming themselves into the game they took full control and no wonder they up the scores through inside left Shilla Alhassan in the 17th minute. The game from then on became a ding-dong affair until the end of first half. Kotoko on resumption brought in Charles Taylor for Michael Ofosu while Moses Tetteh replaced Kweku Eshun and these changes paid dividends for them as they took absolute control of the game from then on forcing Dwarfs to be on the defensive most of the time. In the 52nd minute, Charles Taylor outpaced four Dwarfs defenders on the run and laid a neat pass to Shilla Alhassan who made no mistake to increase his side's tally to 2-1. Kotoko continued to pile pressure on Dwarfs and it came as no surprise when midfielder, Kwame Adjabah connected Alhassan's cross into the net with a header in the 73rd minute to bring the full time scores
