Kuban Krasnodar are reluctant to release Ghanaian midfield enforcer Rabiu Mohammed to Benfica, despite a strong interest, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.
The Ghana international, 24, has already shown willingness to move to the Portuguese champions, but Kuban – where his contract runs till 2016 - are still not ready to cash on him.
Goal understands that talks will still continue between the two clubs and if no agreement is reached the former Evian man will stay in Russia.
The player in an interview with Portuguese sports paper Record also revealed that he will like to play in the Champions League.
“I will give my best for my club because next season we hope to compete in the Champions League,” he said.
Mohammed joined Kuban Krasnodar from French side Evian last summer for three million Dollars.
