Experienced football administrator, Kudjoe Fianoo, has confirmed that February 28th will be his last day in office as Ashanti Gold CEO.

Fianoo’s reign as CEO of the Obuasi giants has come to an end as new investors have taken over the club.

“Tomorrow [February 28th] will be my last day as Ashanti Gold CEO,”Fianoo told Asempa FM.

“I have done what I have to do as CEO of the club and I’m leaving the club on a good note. There is no bad blood between myself and the club.

“Ashanti Gold have done a lot for me, if I’m to enjoy my SNNIT benefit now, it means Ashanti Gold have played a role in it.”

When asked whether he is sure of his departure, he said, “For the first time my family has backed me 100% with respect to my decision, so I won’t be Ashanti Gold CEO from tomorrow, the club will forever remain in my heart.”

Fianoo joined the ‘Aboakese Lads’ in 2005 and helped the club to end their 19 year league title drought by claiming the domestic top-flight championship three seasons ago.
