Former president JA Kufuor has predicted Asante Kotoko will come good despite their patchy run of results in both Africa and the Ghana league.
The Porcupine Warriors have been dominant in the local top-flight over the past three seasons but have had a jerky start to their title defense as they currently occupy the fifth spot with 22 points at the end of the first round of the domestic top-flight.
Kufuor who once served on the board of the Kumasi-based side said the Fabulous Boys will bounce back in grand style.
“Life is ups and downs perhaps Kotoko is not in the best of times now but we shouldn’t forget that they are still not rivaled by any other team in this country in terms of championships, they have been so many times champions of our nation,” the former president told Starr Sports.
“And even on the continent of Africa, you can’t talk about three or four clubs without including the Porcupine Warriors so if they are not shinning now, I believe Kotoko will bounce back.”
The two-time African champions have also been struggling to make a meaningful impact in Africa’s inter-club competition after they last reached the group phase of the CAF Champions League in 2008
