Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) spokesman and Good Morning Ghana host, Randy Abbey has kick-started his campaign for the Vice Presidency of the football fraternity announcing how he has known Kurt Okraku for more than 20-years and how they go way back, among others.

Randy Abbey is among the three Division One League Clubs representatives who were voted onto the new Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council which makes him qualified to be appointed Vice President of the GFA. MyNewsGh.com is reliably informed Randy is eyeing the number 2 job seriously.

In what appears to be a calculated lobby, Mr Abbey has started ‘rapping’ the new GFA President, Mr Kurt Okraku with praises.

According to Randy, he has known Kurt Okraku for a long time and he is the right man for the job.

“He is the right man for the job.. the delegates have spoken, I mean, he is the right man for the job. I have known Kurt for over 20 years, we go way back.” He told journalists.

The new GFA President is set to announce his choice of Vice president which will be an appointment from among the executive committee members.

Kurt Okraku was elected President of the Ghana Football Association after George Afriyie conceded defeat before the 3rd round yesterday at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra. He polled 59 votes as against George Afriyie’s 43 and Nana Yaw Amponsah’s 16.

The Normalization Committee (NC) in charge of the elections called off the 3rd round as the rest of the candidates have stepped down leaving Kurk Okraku.
