GFA Presidential hopeful Kurt Okraku has promised to oversee the revival of colts football in Ghana if elected into office.

Speaking to reporters in Tamale during his #GameChanger manifesto press briefing on Friday, the Dreams FC chief said his administration will be fully committed to the development of football in the country.

He argued that Ghana needs to harness its footballing talents at a young age if the country is to continue its tradition as being one of the continent’s greatest footballing nations.

“We’ll create game centers for colts football to make it attractive and entertaining.

“We’ll improve the playing fields of the selected game centers and equip these centers with 50 balls every season.

“When this happens, eye balls will be directed to those game centers. These centers will have about 8 or 10 clubs playing their games there.

“Every Premier League club will be obliged to enforce the Club Licensing System on juvenile football that will ensure these clubs are affiliated to colts clubs for the revival of the colts system.

“We shall also re-establish the National Colts Festival to increase the attractiveness of the competition to make it juicy for corporate Ghana to come on board to support.”

Kurt believes this step will aide in the revival of the failing colts system which has been responsible for the production of some of Ghana’s finest footballers including Abedi Ayew Pele, Tony Yeboah, Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan just to name a few.
