Veteran sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah has thrown his weight behind Ghana Football Association boss Kwesi Nyantakyi in the wake of recent calls for his removal by his critics.
Some fans have been vociferous calling for the resignation of Nyantakyi who was head of the team management committee at the World Cup.
But Yeboah, who was a commentator for AUB during the tournament in Brazil, says it will be in the interest of all Ghanaians that Nyantakyi remains at post.
“I think calls for the current FA to step aside is way off the mark,” Yeboah said on his Sports Highlight Show on Ghana Television.
“We as a nation should search deep into matters that went wrong, and try to find practical solutions to the problems and not try to victimize individuals.
“We have enjoyed tremendous success under the current administration and I believe we can do same with a few corrections.”
Off the field issues and player revolt wrecked the team’s campaign as they suffered two defeats- against USA and Portugal- and an explosive 2-2 draw with winners Germany.
