Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah and television giants Metro TV on Saturday 1st July 2017 donated food and items worth thousands of cedis to inmates of the James Camp Prison in Accra.

The event that was graced by PFAG boss Tony Baffoe, the deputy Italian Ambassador Lorenzo Pinelli, Black Stars midfielder Agyemang Badu, musician Obrafour and host of other celebrities also saw the Kwadwo Asamoah Foundation and Metro Sports project commission a newly built pitch for the inmates

The renovation of the pitch to a playable standard was a fulfilment of a promise made to the prisoners who are referred to as "Adehye3" by Kwadwo Asamoah when he visited them exactly a year ago

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu who represented his national teammate encouraged the inmates to take seriously whatever they are learning from the camp and also ensure that they leave the prison as reformed human beings. He urged them to stay focus and be disciplined. He also promised to visit them whenever he is in the country.

"I want to encourage all of you to be disciplined and be serious with whatever you are learning from this place. You have to make sure that you leave this place as better human beings. I'm happy to be with you people and I promise to be here whenever I'm in Ghana"

Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, the deputy director of prisons Patience Baffoe Boney thanked Metro TV and Kwadwo Asamoah and promised that the food and items will be given to inmates.

The Editor of sports at Metro TV, Ernest Koranteng paid glowing tributes to the sponsors for their commitment and also promised that the marriage between his outfit and the prison will continue soaring.

"I want to say thank you to all our sponsors and everyone who played a role in ensuring that this event become a success. Our union with this prison will not end any time soon. We will keep supporting the inmates".

The renovated pitch was commissioned with a match between Kwadwo Asamoah 11 which was made up of some staff from Metro TV, footballers and celebrities and James Camp 11 which was mainly made up the inmates.

James Camp 11 won 3-2 on penalties after an entertaining 1-1 draw

Music Legend Obrafour and Agyemang Badu thrilled the jubilant inmates with Obrafour's Kase3bo track that featured Guru.
