Coach Luciano Spalletti is confident Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah would be able to provide cover for injury-prone Inter Milan when they take on PSV Eindhoven in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday.
A couple of players including key midfielder Matias Vecino and Radja Nainggolan have been ruled out of the crucial game due to injuries.
Inter need to record a win against the Eredivisie side and hope that Tottenham Hotspur claim victory against Barcelona in the other game to stand a chance of making it to the knockout stage.
“At the end of training, Vecino felt some discomfort in his quadriceps. It did not seem to matter, then we went to get it checked because there is a risk of worsening the problem," Spalletti told Sky Sports Italia. "I’ll try to force the participation of Nainggolan but we have a bunch of starters. We have more than one solution. Kwadwo Asamoah is one of the solutions and he is a fantastic player,” he added.
With Barcelona already qualified, Inter sit third in Group B on tie at seven points with Tottenham.
