Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah returned from his one-match ban to help Inter Milan beat Napoli 1-0 in the Serie A on Boxing Day.
Asamoah, who missed the Nerazurri's away draw at Chievo on Saturday lasted the entire duration as the Milan side cut the gap between the and Napoli to five points.
Lautaro Martinez’s goal in stoppage time proved decisive and was enough to secure three big points that move the Nerazzurri onto 36 points for the season.
Inter came close in the opening minute after Mauro Icardi fired the kick-off straight at goal, Meret was almost caught out but the ball hit the crossbar.
But Inter, had to wait until injury time before Martinez found the net with his first attempt on goal, eight minutes after coming on as a substitute.
The highlight of the game was when Senegalese defender Khalidou Koulibaly was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in a matter of seconds in the 80th minute.
