Emmanuel Omari Danso AKA Kwahu Tyson maintained his 100% knockout record in 17 professional fights after beating George Amuzu in round 8 in Accra on Saturday night to become the new WBA Pan-Africa Light Heavyweight champion.
Kwahu Tyson pummeled his equally combative opponent all fight long until the referee stopped the bout 2 minutes 53 seconds into the eighth round to hand the Ghanaian victory over Amuzu from Benin.
It’s the second longest fight in the career of Danso who improved to 17-0, 17 KOs but Kwahu Tyson is adamant he was in control throughout.
“It wasn’t that difficult. Yes the guy was very good with lots of experience which he tried to intimidate me with but I didn’t have any problems. It wasn’t a tough fight for me and I’m glad to win. It’s a fantastic feeling to be champion of Africa and I’m marching on. I’m waiting for any challenger or I relinquish the title to pursue bigger titles,” Danso told the Ghana-based website www.sportsinghana.com at ringside.
