The agent representing Kotoko forward Sogne Yacouba has called out the club’s Executive Chairman Kwame Kyei over some comments he made regarding the player’s future at the club.

Yacouba’s future has been up in the air for some months with his representatives and Kotoko struggling to reach an agreement.

On Sunday, after their 2-0 defeat over Ebusua Dwarfs, the fans’ worst fears were confirmed as Kwame Kyei told them in a meeting that the club is unable to meet the player’s demands.

Kwame Kyei also said that the Burkinabe turned down a $150,000 deal Kotoko agreed with another club for him.

“For Sogne Yacouba, to be honest before God, that amount he is demanding from us, which is $150,000, we can't give him that money. There is no way we can give that money (amount) to him if we fail to tell you (the supporters) the truth his contract is due and If we say we can sign Sogne Yacouba then its a lie due to his outrageous demands". " We discussed with him because we had an offer for him earlier that he was supposed to go, we told him to go and we will resign him but he said he won't go and he is charging us a fee of $150,000, but if we said we can pay that money then it's a lie, we can't " Dr Kyei concluded.

Yacouba’s agent has reacted to the claims by the revered businessman, describing it ‘lies and baseless’. He also challenged Kwame Kyei to substantiate his claims with evidence.

He further accused some people within Kotoko for working against the player spiritually.

“There's no truth in what Dr Kwame Kyei said to the supporters that they got a deal for him worth $150,000 which Yacouba rejected, he should mention the name of the club. I dare him to”.

If Asante Kotoko is no more interested in him, we are okay. There are other clubs in Ghana who are also interested in. He will not stay at home. Spiritually we are aware of what people are doing against the player”. Reports in the Kumasi indicate that Yacouba has handed in a transfer request, notifying Kotoko of his intention to leave the club before the expiration of his contract.

As per the rumours, he is likely to miss Sunday’s match against Accra Hearts of Oak.
Yacouba is yet to score a goal in five games played in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.
